Lindsey graduates out
of Legends 600 Pro Series July 12, 2008
After a great season with SPG
Motorsports, Adams and her management have made the
decision to pull out of the Legends Car Series. The
decision was made so that Lindsey will be focusing,
full time, on her efforts in a full size stock car.
SPG Motorsports gave
me everything they had to offer in the Legends Car
Series. Our goal was to learn ovals and develop my
skills in fender to fender racing. Now I will
continue on my education in stock cars. I am very
grateful to Sean Glennon for his commitment to my
development and support in my career,
commented Lindsey earlier this week.
With their goals fulfilled
LAR will leave the Legends Pro Series currently
fourteenth in points Nationally, the highest
ranking female in the Pro Division. The highest in
National points Lindsey reached was fifth position
with fourteen top five finishes in the Lone Star
Legends Series.
Team Tomlin and Lindsey
Adams celebrate first regional and national win at
Texas World Speedway! - 6/7/06
This past weekend Lindsey
Adams celebrated her first win in a formula car!
Thanks to the crew and owners of Team Tomlin, Adams
qualified on pole and won two days in a row. The
race was held by the Sports Car Club of America out
at Texas World Speedway in College Station,
Texas.
Friday was a full practice
day of five, 20 minute, sessions. Saturday
(regional race) and Sunday (national race) each
included a qualifying session and 25 lap final
race. Lindsey qualified in first position and
finished with a strong win!
There are races
where you might qualify fifth, battle your heart
out and finish second. Sometimes those mean more
than a win, Adams comments, Now is not
a time like that. Qualifying on pole by three
tenths and winning both finals in a national race
felt incredible! I wouldnt trade this for
anything!

Adams has kept busy with
testing/racing Team Tomlins Formula Mazda.
With one race under her belt Lindsey is showing for
a promising season. In early March she competed in
SCCAs regional race out at Motorsports ranch
in which she finished in the top 10. After
qualifying 3rd and finishing 7th Tomlin, and the
entire team, are looking forward to a solid season.
Growing up my dad
told me you cant win if you dont
finish. My main goal right now is to finish all the
races I compete in. Adams comments.

Excerpts:
How did you get into
racing? How do you train for this
sport?
Racing has been in my
family for three generations now. One of my
earliest memories is at the motocross track
watching my dad race his dirt bike. One of my
dads earliest memories is growing up in his
dads machine shop. So, I guess you could say
that racing is in my blood. I always begged my dad
to let me race something, a motorcycle, a go-kart,
a dragster, I didnt care
I just wanted
to race. He finally bought me a go-kart and here I
am, pursuing a career as a professional racecar
driver.
Being fit is extremely
important in this sport. I find biking, swimming,
and weight training a great way to stay in shape.
Not only is it important to stay fit physically,
but mentally as well. I stay focused and on
track in order to achieve my goals!
What do you love most
about this sport?
I am an extremely
competitive person; I always have been. Racing is
constant competition. Whether you are fighting it
out on the track, competing for a ride on a certain
team, or trying to maintain your reign as a
national champion, you are always trying to be the
best, trying to win. Racing is also a constant
process. I believe in always challenging myself and
pushing myself to the limit. The first time I ever
sat in a Formula Mazda I was just so excited to be
at that level. Now I have settled in and I am
expected to perform not only by my team, but by
myself. I love the pressure, the constant learning
process, the humility it takes, and of course
winning!
How often do you
compete? Describe the coolest and/or most
challenging race that youve ever been in.
I compete at least twice a
month. Whether it is in a go-kart or a Formula
Mazda, racing is definitely a full time schedule.
When I am not at an event I am testing in Denton,
Ft. Worth, or at the next track in my series. Many
people ask how I balance school and racing. My
school is so great about working with me to make up
classes and complete my work. They believe in me
and want me to do the best I possibly can!
One of the coolest races I
have ever competed in was the KART National
Championships. I had won the Rotax South Central
Regions Cup race a few days before and waswas
fastest all week in practice but ended up
qualifying 2nd out of 20 drivers, due to low tire
pressures, in the most competitive class, the Rotax
International class. I started off-pole (2nd place)
in the final race, got the lead, and led all 18
laps. Yes, I love the competition, but sometimes
its nice to be, hands-down, the fastest
driver.
What challenges do you
face when you compete? How do you meet these
challenges?
In any profession or walk
of life there will be challenges that have to be
met. One of my biggest challenges that I have is
finding sponsors that will help fund my program.
Without sponsors I cannot race. So meeting this
challenge has been a constant battle that I have
won and some times lost. Right now I have an
amazing sponsor, Team Tomlin, an Addison, Texas
based racing team, that has provided me with a car
and a crew for this coming season. A big thanks to
Dan Tomlin Jr. with Team Tomlin.
