DishNetwork Proomotes Violence Against Men
And, they think it's funny! It apparently
matches how at least one of their target audiences
thinks about men.
Talk shows, movies, sit-coms, advertisements,
even public (funded) service announcements use
violence to men in a humourous context. The media
bombards young boys with these images constantly,
then tells them they are responsible for curbing
domestic violence.
In a DishNetwork television commercial for DVR,
a man is hit in the crotch with a bat, and it is
rapidly re-played while three men laugh &
laugh. Is a kick in the "jewels" REALLY funny?
DISH Network serves more than 10 million
customers and reaches over 20 million viewers. Let
the people at the DISH Network know what you
think! Ask them why they think seeing a man get hit
in the genitals is so funny. Let us know if they
dare answer you.
