Gala Fundraiser marks new partnership between Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation and National Prostate Cancer Coalition

For the first time, the National Prostate Cancer Coalition and the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation have forged a partnership to battle cancer, hosting a joint-fundraiser on April 20, 2002 at the Hyatt Regency Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, from 7 p.m. to midnight.

"Both organizations have a solid track record of proactive work and I'm extremely pleased that we are combining our efforts in a common cause to find a cure for cancer," Gala Committee Chairman and NPCC Board Member Clay W. Hamlin III, said. "I'm excited to be involved in this partnership."

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed non-skin cancer afflicting American men. About one out of every six will be diagnosed with the disease in his lifetime. About one out of eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Together, prostate cancer and breast cancer will claim more than 70,000 lives by the end of this year.
