Born: March 23, 90
Birth Place = Stuart, Florida
Current Home Base = Jensen Beach, Florida
Samantha Kileu Neild works on her own car, from
changing the oil to taking apart the clutch. She
also helps put her step-father's 23T Altered
Dragster back together to eventually license up in
herself. Samantha plans to continue her education
after high school, and also aspires to pilot a Top
Fuel Dragster one day. In addition to her growing
racing career, Samantha also enjoys surfing and
riding horses. Samantha is a manager for the
Wrestling Team at her high school, and she has
taught herself the bass guitar.
I have raced a junior dragster since I was 10
1/2 but now at 17 I am licensed to drive my step
dad's 23T Altered dragster and I race with the
Nostalgia dragster club "Southern Slingshots". I am
also going to take a ride in a blown front engine
dragster to run for the owner/ friend.
I attend a dual enrollment high school and will
graduate from there with an AA degree.
My local news station ch.12 in West Palm Beach
is going to be doing a two part story on me and my
racing and I have been lucky to announce a couple
new sponsors who have joined us, OutLaw Eyewear a
very new compnay who carry the very hottest
sunglasses and Karma Salon in Stuart,Fl. Jennifer
and the whole staff there are keeping me looking
great with my hair and makeup and much, much more.
They carry a wonderful line of natural products for
hair and skin!
Who started you: mom took me to the
track, my stepdad actually built my first
dragster!
Biggest influence: hard to say, again my mom
and stepdad who gave me the chance.
Women you admire: Erica Enders whom I got to
meet, who I basically followed in her footsteps,
and my friend new friend Kate Harker, mostly
though, Rhonda Hartman/Smith, she has it all and
does it all, and she is also a friend of ours. She
is an awesome person.
Father's Thoughts: My real dad is ok with it
I guess although he has never seen me race. He has
seen pictures of my new ride and thought it was
pretty cool.
Your encouragement to others: Go for it!
Learn all about your chosen ride. Learn to work on
the machine I think you gain even more respect when
you do and above all stay grounded and stay open to
people. Never forget where you came from!
Schedule
Oct. 12 and 13 Carolina Dragway in
S.Carolina.
Nov.3 and 4 Bradenton, Florida club race with the
Slinshots.
We also have a few other races not yet confirmed
in South Georgia. Watch the Southern Slingshots
website for further scheduling.
Results
The Race: Jr. Dragster's run an 1/8 mile Bracket
race. Wednesday and Fridays are test and tune
nights and with a points race approximately every
other Saturday night. On points night drivers get
one practice run, one qualifying run and then
elimination runs begin.
2007 - Sam will take on a whole new level
of Horse Power, as she moves from Jr. Dragsters, to
Full blown V8 Powered 23T Altered Dragster. Sam
says she is really looking forward to the move
up.
2006 - Jr. Dragster Top 5 - Sam finished
3rd in final points.
