- Moorpark - Support Group for Bread Winner's. Unemployed men
carry unbearable loneliness, pain, and shame. Very often they feel
isolated and confused. They believe their manhood has been
compromised. Many do not see their wives as confidents and they
can't bear to spend time with their buddies who are still
employed. Unemployed men feel like they are spending their long
daytime hours without structure or purpose. Research has shown
that twice-weekly group meetings have proved to be extremely
effective. The purpose of this support group is to break the cycle
of depression and once again introduce clarity and purpose to
life. The group meets in Moorpark on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10
a.m. for 1 hour. Marina Edelman, M.A, facilitates the group. She
attained a B.A. in Business and a M.A. Degree in Psychology.
Marina has five years of critical experience in the Mental Health
Profession, and has gained practical accounting, budgeting and
forecasting experience as Financial Analyst. Owning and operating
retail and manufacturing businesses strengthened her knowledge
base. Marina may be reached via eMail

The weekly meetings focus on feelings, speaking, sharing, honest

our parents, our work, our women, trust, self love, our dreams and
visions, and our passion....what exactly are we here to do. We
request a minimum 3-month commitment. Bottom line, this work is
about keeping all of us on our edge, that place where we are a bit
uncomfortable, very alive, and producing the type of results and
experiences we as men deserve and crave. Minimum Sessions = 12 at

psyche. The birth of his first child is a watershed for a man; he
must make room for this miraculous new life and adapt to the many
changes a newborn brings. Few feel prepared for the shifts in
relationship with ones partner and the powerful inner forces
that come to bear. In this group we will come together as
men expecting/new fathers to support and explore with
one another the challenges of fathering. We will deconstruct the
parenting (or lack of) we experienced as boys, to understand what
to preserve and what to discard. By speaking our truth and going
deeply we will brew a collective alchemy from which to draw
strength and inspiration. This is a group for men willing to
engage the process and be open to inquiry. You must be capable of
giving and receiving feedback and support to and from other men.
Meetings are weekly for 10 weeks, in Sebastopol, on a weeknight to
be determined. An interview with Russell is required before
enrollment. $40 for each session to be paid in full at the
beginning of the series. Russell Sutter, MFT, is a therapist and
father. The conception of my first child, now 26, was my
initiation into mens work. Licensed since 1984,
Russell has led groups and workshops in mens issues and has
a private psychotherapy practice in Sebastopol specializing in
Mens work and couples. Call (707) 824-0304 for more
details.
- Sebastopol - Fathering A Child Russell Sutter. As fathers, we
live with important questions about our roles. How am I guiding my
child? What is a mentor? What am I passing on to my child that I
am aware of? What am I passing on that I am unaware of? How do I
mediate the popular culture that bombards us with its predictable
gender models and insistent messages of materialism? In the
company of other men, we will explore these and other questions.
Bring the hopes and dreams, conflicts and love that your fathering
generates in you and we will brew a collective alchemy from which
to draw strength and inspiration. Open to all men with sons of any
age, in the womb or on their own. Ten Wednesday evenings in
Sebastopol from 7 to 9:00pm, starting in January. $350 for the
series. A brief interview prior to the first group is required.
